What are the benefits of Aquarelle Lips/Lip Blush?

Lip Blush is a cosmetic treatment that offers several benefits. It can enhance the appearance by making the illusion of fuller and larger lips. The treatment can also restore color to lips that have become pale or darker or correct blurred lip lines, camouflage scars, and hypopigmentation. Additionally, the color is kiss-proof and smudge-proof, which eliminates the need for daily use of pencils to outline, fill in, or reshape lip borders.

How long does Lip Blush last?

Lip Blush can last for 1 to 3 years. The procedure involves two steps: the initial insertion of pigment and a touch-up weeks later. The results can only be determined once the touch-up is completed. Please keep in mind that achieving the desired lip results may require multiple sessions. You must schedule a Complimentary Enhancement Session 6-12 weeks after your first initial appointment in order to achieve the richness of color, symmetry, and density in the shape that you desire. Touch-up appointments are not mandatory, but they can help maintain the color of your lips over time. The extent to which your lips fade depends on various factors, such as your skin type and tone, lifestyle, exposure to the sun, the pigment color used, and your overall health. To keep your lips looking their best, we suggest scheduling a touch-up every 1-3 years for optimal results.

How will my lips look right after the treatment?

After the lip blush procedure, you can expect your lips to appear swollen and slightly larger than usual. The extent of swelling varies from person to person. Initially, the pigment and lip color will look darker, akin to bold lipstick. However, the size of your lips will return to normal, and the color will significantly fade, up to 50%, within the first four days. Typically, the color fades first on the inside of the lips and lastly on the edges. Immediately after the procedure, your lips may feel dry, chapped, tight, and tender to the touch, similar to the sensation of sunburn.

Lip Blush treatment and are prone to cold sores, it is important to take certain precautions.

To ensure your safety, we require all our clients to take an antiviral medication for a total of 5 days. This includes two days before the procedure, the day of the procedure, and two days after the procedure. It is imperative that you take this medication to prevent any outbreaks. Examples of antiviral medications include Zovirax, Famvir, or Valtrex. Please note that there are no exceptions to this rule, and it applies every time you have any lip blush treatments. To obtain your prescription strength antiviral medication, you will need to contact your physician and inform them of your decision to have permanent cosmetics applied to your lips. They will then call in your prescription to the pharmacy for you to pick up.

How long is the Lip Blush Healing Process?

For most people, the initial visible healing stage will last one week - that's how long it takes for the surface of the skin to heal - but it takes about 5-6 weeks for the tissue beneath to heal completely. Lip Blush Aftercare directly impacts how your lips will look at the end of the healing process.

What are the factors that will affect the appearance of my Lip Blush?

Factors that may affect the final result of your Lip Blush tattoo include caffeine, alcohol, certain foods or drinks, and certain medications or vitamins that can act as stimulants and/or blood thinners. It is recommended that you avoid these substances for at least 48 hours before your appointment. Sun exposure can also soften the appearance of your lip tattoo and alter the color of the pigment. If you are a smoker, sunbather, or have distressed skin, your results may be less desirable. To ensure the best outcome, it is advised that you avoid sun and tanning bed exposure for 30 days before and after your procedure. If you show up for your appointment with a new tan or sunburn, you will need to reschedule and pay a rescheduling fee, as the exfoliation of your skin from a sunburn can take the pigment with it.
